About Role Modeling:
The Role Modeling Approach (RMA) was developed to prepare children for kindergarten by providing them and their parents with weekly lessons that engage children where they are in their aptitudes, interests, and abilities. RMA begins with the idea that healthy adult-child attachments prime children for learning. As children develop trust and respect for their Role Models, their appetite for learning new skills and participating in new activities is stimulated. About the Role Model position:
- The Role Model position requires making a 6 month commitment to provide a 3-4 year old child with a one hour lesson, once a week
- Lessons take place at the child’s home and with a parent present at every single lesson
- The lesson day and time is scheduled around your availability, Monday-Friday from approximately 2PM-630PM
- (lessons can take place earlier in some instances)
- No experience is required
What Role Models teach children:
- Children are taught a spread of pre-academic skills that cover 6 learning areas: alphabet knowledge, numbers and basic math, oral language, writing, pre-reading, and vocabulary
- Role Model lessons help children develop behaviors and attitudes associated with academic success, such as task persistence, being patient, focusing attention for extended periods of time, following directions and routines, asking for help, and being enthusiastic about books and learning

- Complete an office interview and a comprehensive background check
- Complete a Role Model training (Offered two Saturdays a month, 9AM-12PM)
- Begin Role Modeling!
